Our story

About Cuisine Operators

A family-run hospitality business that grew from pop-up food events into a permanent home at Lake House Arts Centre in Takapuna.

How we started

Cuisine Operators Limited began with pop-up food events. We cooked at pop-ups across the North Shore, in Te Atatu and up in Matakana, sharing Egyptian, Lebanese and Turkish dishes with the people who came along.

Those events led to a permanent venue. Today we run Lake House Cafe inside Lake House Arts Centre on Fred Thomas Drive, Takapuna. Our menu puts dishes like shakshuka, falafel and feteer next to New Zealand cafe classics and specialty coffee.

From the cafe we also host events, cater private and corporate functions, and prepare business lunches for offices around Takapuna.

Family-run

Cuisine Operators is a family business. We cook the food we love to share: Egyptian, Lebanese and Turkish dishes, served alongside the Kiwi cafe favourites our neighbours come in for.

Part of the community

Being at Lake House Arts Centre means sharing a home with artists, exhibitions and the people who visit them. We want the cafe to be a place where people meet, eat and stay a while.

What we value

  • Sharing our food

Egyptian, Lebanese and Turkish cooking, shared with everyone who walks through the door.

  • Something for every table

Kiwi cafe classics on the same menu, so families and friends with different tastes can eat together.

  • Part of the neighbourhood

A home at Lake House Arts Centre, serving locals, visitors to the arts centre and offices around Takapuna.
